1st. Family Camp PD
The first Family Camp was held at the Eagle Range in Port Dickson, 27-29 August 2009. Some 70 members attended the camp. It was a great time of learning and bonding together.
Brother Jaccob Thomas very ably led us through the Fruit of the Spirit in line with the theme “God’s Power to Change Our Lives” . Jonathan and Lina so wonderfully led in the games and bonding times that brought out the hidden talents in many people. And Sister Lee Wah chaired the weekend’s programme so well that no one missed meal times. Not forgetting Mabal who looked after the children’s programme who came up with a wall poster of the fruit of the Spirit, that will be preserved and framed . I hope this will hang in the entrance of the new church.
Ps. Fred was recovering from food poisoning and thus was resting and enjoying the “fruits ” to see our leaders do so well. A big thank you to the organisers, Patrick and Anne, Tony and May, Johnny Tan and really our great camp commander, Mr. Fang. Thanks too to our worship team.
Thank you to everyone who had come and contributed to make this first camp a memorable one. Oh the food was just great….

We had the privilege of having the Rt Rev Olusegan Adeyemi from the Church in Nigeria visit us. He was originally supposed to come for the SOMA Conference in Sabah, but due to visa delays he only arrived 2 weeks later. He had asked the Lord if he should go to Sabah, Malaysia as it was so past the dates. The Lord replied in the affirmative and he got on the plane not knowing anything, who was to meet him, or how he would get to Sabah. He then decided that he would come out of the airport on arrival and take a cab to Sabah.
We received a SOS to meet him and look after him. That’s how he landed in Peace Community Church. When he was brought to meet Fred, his first words to him were ” Brother, this is going to be a 3000 church!” . Amen. Amen
Bishop Adeyemi preached a powerful sermon on “Peace of God” and greatly ministered to all especially to our African students. Praise the Lord.

Bp Adeyemi

In the last week 2 of our members lost their dear ones. On Monday Lip Vi’s grandfather passed away in Ipoh. Lip Vi is the first Christian in their family and wanted to know what he should do so that he will witness for the Lord. Lip Vi we are so encouraged by your faith. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
On Friday our dear brother Johnny Ng lost his dear father in Teluk Intan, Perak. ( Teluk Anson for the older generation.) Please uphold Johnny, Mabal, Isabella and Laurabelle as they go to be with their family. Pray that they will have the opportunity to share about the hope in Jesus Christ. To the Ng family, we share your grief at this time and be assured we are praying.

We are thrilled that we were able to celebrate the birthday of one of our young members in the person of Laurabelle Ng. Laurabelle’s ministry is creating power point and visuals for the announcements. This makes listening to announcement a little better and members go away remembering them.
Thank you Laurabelle and Happy Birthday from all of us. God Bless you though out the coming year.

Wednesay 29 July was our monthly prayer meeting held at the home of Pastor Fred and Yoke Fong. It is interesting to note that about 30% of the church was at the prayer meeting. But we need to increase the attendance at the monthly prayer meetings. Bro Neil Rhode led the prayer session with giving all gathered a glimpse of what God can do in our lives if we make ourselves available to Him. Prayer was focussed on the following:
Mission: Nepal, Myanmar
Diocese: Provincial Synod, Leadership development, Releasing of resources for the Kingdom
PeaceCom: Walkabouts, families, To impact Bukit Jalil, nurturing of new members, praying for the new premises, Upcoming Family Camp
Then there was a time for personal requests.
The Next Prayer meeting will be held in the midst of the Family Camp. Please come to this. Also if you have not signed up for the family camp please call Anne.

Here are the pictures of those who were baptized on 27 June 2009.

Declaring their faith in the Lord

Will you renounce the devil and all his works?

I baptized you in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
It was a great joy to receive these new brothers and sisters into the family of God. Please pray for them as they continue to mature in their walk with the Lord through the Discipleship Class.

Christine, who was baptised recently testified to the goodness of the Lord at the worship service. This was the first time she ever shared in front of a congregation. She testified that as she was immersed in the waters of baptism a wonderful thing happened. She saw in front of her a vast spread of beautiful blue water and a bright light that was shinning through it. She was so happy and peaceful that she wanted to remain forever in it. But she was pulled up by Pastor. She came out of the water crying tears of joy and happiness knowing that she had received a special touch from the Lord.

We are grateful to God that He has seen us through our first year. The numbers have grown from the first 12 people who gathered to worship, Today we average 55-60. We are praying that by the end of the year we will break through the 100 mark. This is not just for numbers but to keep the momentum of evangelism and the preaching of God’s Word. This is an indication that Peace Community is being relevant and is impacting the lives of people around.
As part of the Anniversary Celebration our first Confirmation was administered by our Bishop the Rt. Rev Ng Moon Hing. 10 were confirmed into the full membership of the Anglican Church.
After the worship a Celebration Dinner was held. A number of items were presented. The high light was the presentation by our African brothers who brought the floor to dancing led by the Bishop and Senior Pastor Truly a night of great rejoicing and thanksgiving.

At 3 pm on Saturday 27 June at Country Heights, Peace Community Church held her second Baptism. 6 adults and little Andrew were baptised by Senior Pastor, Rev Fred David. It was a great day of rejoicing as one member commented : “I have waited 17 years for my son in law to be baptised.” Praise the Lord. Pray that all those who gave their lives to the Lord will grow in the Lord. They are now attending a Discipleship class at Peace Com.
ps, photos will be uploaded later.
