Speaker for Sunday May 06

Our senior pastor will be speaking at both the morning and evening worships. In the morning the topic will be: ” Invitation to Share” (Acts 8:26-end). Then in the evening he will be speaking on John 15:1-8, ” The Lord is Our Vine”

This is also Holy Communion week and we ask you to come and share with us at the Lord’s Table. This was the practice of the early church. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Coffee and tea will be served after the morning worship and a light supper after the evening worship. Come and experience the love and fellowship at Peace Community Church.

Jumping for the Lord

The children now see it as their privilege to take the final session of each Sunday worship. Last Sunday saw them singing and jumping for the Lord. It is indeed a joy to have our children to be assimilated into the Sunday worship. Praise God for the children and those who nurture them in the faith.

Why Christians Celebrate Palm Sunday?

The Messiah comes to rebuild Jerusalem

Palm Sunday is the day the Christian Church remembers the “triumphal enrty” of Jesus into Jerusalem, exactly one week before His resurrection (Matthew 21:1-11) Some 450-500 years earlier, the Prophet Zechariah had prophesied, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you: He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9) Matthew 21:7-9 records the fulfillment of that prophecy: “They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothers on them, and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The multitudes who wnet before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the Highest”

This event took place on the Sunday before Jesus’crucifixion.

In remembrance of this event, the church celebrates Palm Sunday. because of the palms branches that were laid on the road as Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday was the fulfillment of the Prophet Daniel’s “seventy sevens” (Daniel 9:25)

Rebekah Khoo Leads in Worship

Early this year, our Senior Pastor initiated the move to involve our children in a more and meaningful way in the Sunday worship. At each Celebration of the Lord’s Supper, one of our children will lead the congregation in the “Family Prayer” or the “Lord’s Prayer” at the appointed time in the service.

This has really brought out the “familiness” in Peace Community Church, where every person and child is welcome and a part of the Church of Christ. We are Family.

Let us pray

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

Great year ahead

Peace Community Church’s New Year’s Service was held on 2nd January. It was a joyful gathering. Some members were still away for the holidays. Ps. Fred spoke from Joshua 24:14-18 on the need to “stay on course” despite the many difficulties and trials we would encounter in growing Peace Community Church. But God’s promise to Joshua that He will drive away the Canaanites and deliver the Promised Land into the hands of Israel  has come true at the end of the Book of Joshua. God has been faithful to Joshua.

How are we to “Stay on Course”

1. Be Courageous: There will be mountains for us to climb in seeing our church members grow, to be nurtured and Commited. In times of loneliness to know that God is with us and in the face of opposition not to be distracted.

2. Be Dependable: Continue to serve in faith and develop a greater desire for prayer.

3.Be Optimistic: Look at the brighter side of things. Trust God and put away all that is not pleasing to  him. Keep looking ahead so that we will be ready to move ahead.

2011 will offer great opportunities. We must seize them for the Lord.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Great year ahead

His Triumph for Forgiveness

These were the very reason that the Christ child was born for.

He concluded with 3 challenges for Christmas

1. Live our lives introducing Jesus in an unforgettable way
