Christmas Open House

Peace Community is holding a Christmas Open House on Saturday 18 December 2010. The event will begin from about 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We are holding this with the hope that this will bring us a little closer to the community and at the same time to give us an opportunity to share the Christmas message to those who come.

Please pray for fine weather and invite your friends and especially those who have yet to believe in Jesus Christ to come to this event.

BE SEEING YOU!

Buddhist novice becomes Christian

We praise God that the Province of Myanmar, School of Evangelism is so fast bearing fruits. Just after the last training in July 2010, 12 new believers have been added to the Anglican Church in Myanmar. This is primary evangelism. This has never happened before and the Archbishop and Bishops are real thrilled and excited to see how the Holy Spirit is working.

One of the new believers was a Buddhist novice. The good news was shared with him by one of the trainees from the School of Evangelism and he received Jesus as he Lord and Saviour. However after three weeks  he went to be with the Lord. He was an AIDS patient.
Praise the Lord, he has received eternal life that no other can give and now reigns with the King of Kings in heaven. Halleluyah.

Bishop speaks on Prayer Power in Evangelism

The Bishop

The Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Ng Moon Hing and his dear wife Siew Lan visited Peace Community Church on Sunday 5 September. The Bishop said he was glad that this church was teaching, preaching and training its members in Evangelism. He challenged our church to find our “life line” which is the key to bringing people into the Kingdom.

As he spoke on the Power of Prayer in Evangelism, he said it was without doubt that prayer was central to all our efforts in evangelism. He challenged us to think of the following:

1. How to win the hearts of people

2. How to bring in the question of salvation at the right time with prayer

3.How to learn to turn over our evangelism to God

Peace Community Church is doing a series of teaching and training on the Topic of Evangelism. This is part of our equipping programme to get every member involved and participating in personal evangelism.

Our next topic in the series will be “Servant Evangelism” The Rev Tan Meng Poo of RBC Ministries will be the speaker. You are welcome to visit and take part in this equipping.

Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend

Listening to the message

On Saturday 14 August, Peace Community Church held its Holy Spirit Weekend. The talks were given live by Senior Pastor Fred David. He spoke of the Work, Person and the Need for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. He stressed that this was not an option for Christians who wanted to have the power of God in their lives. This is essential as we serve Him.

The leaders of the Alpha course helped in the time of ministry. This was a good time of prayer and ministry. We are looking forward to the next alpha course in 2011.

Alpha Course

Peace Community Church will launch our first Alpha Course with the Introductory Dinner in Church on Friday 11 June at 7.30pm. We will then start the lessons on 25 June 2010 in Church.

What is the Alpha Course? It is a 15 week course to the Christian Faith. It is for anyone who wants to know more about the Christian Faith. It is free and a meal will be provided each week. It is non threatening and a very good opportunity to introduce our friends and family to the Christian Faith.

Please contact Anne: 016-275-9718 or Jaccob Thomas :019-312-5037 for more details or invitations.

Night of “Encounter”

guest

Peace Community Church had their first Evangelistic event on Sunday 30 November 2008. This was called “Encounter”. It was in the form of a Musical Concert led by the Psalmist Generation from St. Peter’s Church, Ipoh. Something new for many people, with loud music and songs. But it really touched the hearts of the youths who had come to the event. Speaking after the event to a

few young people, one of them said, ” This is great. we love this…” Another young person said, ” But our churches are not opened to this type of worship!”

But the most exciting was to see a number of hands go up as the challenge was given to give our lives to the

Lord or rededicate our lives again. Pastor Fred and a few others prayed for a number of people that night.

We praise God for his presence. In the words Esther Richards one of our leaders, ” God was with us all the way”

Offer of a Meeting Place!!!!!!!

Praise the Lord, Peace Community Church has been offered the home of a sister, who lives just be side the Golf Club for use during the week. We have been invited to tea sometime to check out the place. We may run an Alpha Course or even try Christianity Explored in her home. Please continue to pray as the Lord begins to open more windows and doors for our Church to minister .

People Do Read Posters!

Did you ever stop to think if people do read the numerous posters, pasted or hang along the roads. Please be encouraged that I have had 4 phone calls about the new church and 2 ladies did come to our Saturday event as a result of the posters and banners.

Thus we are planning another walk-about in the neighborhood this Saturday 26 July from about 9.30 a.m.till 12.00 p.m. Please try to make yourself available and call Anne  ( 016-275-9718) to inform her of your availability.
