Blessed Christmas to you.

“A Gift is Given”

Peace Community Church, Bukit Jalil invites you to share with them this wonderful ” GIFT IS GIVEN” Season. God sent his son Jesus as a little baby at Christmas to be our Savior. This was the news the shepherds heard centuries ago and spread it all around the villages and hill sides. This is the same message for communities around our churches that they too can be saved and have eternal life. People need Hope, Peace, Love and Joy. It is only in coming to Jesus that one can find these.

Come, join us for a meaningful Christmas.

Welcome to the Season of Advent

The Season of Advent is the anticipation of the long awaited coming of the Messiah in the person of Jesus Christ. The next 4 Sundays will be characterized by the lighting of the Advent candles signifying Hope, Peace, Love and Joy. On Christmas day we will light a white candle called the Christ Candle. Advent is also a time of deep reflection on one’s spiritual life. This year here at Peace Community we are reaching out to new families to hear the Nativity story. Please pray with us

We are proud that our senior Pastor, the Rev Canon Fred David has completed his Masters in Intercultural Studies with AGT and STM. The graduation service was held on 21 October 2023 at the multi purpose hall of Seminari Theology Malaysia in Seremban. His family were there to witness this wonderful occasion. Senior Pastor goes on to do his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) in the new year. We pray that God will guide and give him wisdom as he researches in the area of the marginalized communities in Malaysia and the challenges to the local Church.

Congratulations and God bless

Confirmation at PeaceCom

On 26 November which was also the Feast of Christ the King, Ian Cheong and Casie Chua were confirmed by the Rt. Rev Yong Chen Fah, Bishop in the Diocese of Sabah by special permission. Bishop Chen Fah was here to receive his Malaysian Citizenship after almost waiting for 30 years.

We at Peace Community Church were honored by his presence with us.

We congratulate our candidates and pray that they will be challenged to serve the Lord.

A Special Visitor

It was a privilege to host Bishop Yong Chen Fah in KL at our home last week. He was former assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Sabah. When I landed in Sabah in September 1979, Bishop Chen who was the Rector of All Saints Cathedral, met me at the airport. I stayed with him for a couple of days before going to Sandakan for the next 3 months doing a field exposure programme from Trinity College Singapore. It was a turning point to my ministry as I was to return to Sabah and serve for almost 27 years in the Diocese.

Bishop Chen Fah came to the Lord in his secondary school days in Tawau. He later left to further his education in Sydney Australia and it was there that he was called to ministry. He returned to Sabah when the church was going through hard times. The Diocese was left with one Bishop and four clergy. All the missionaries were given 24 hours to leave the country.

We praise God for him and others who stayed and help the Diocese grow. He was involved in the lay training programme of the Diocese and mentored and challenged many of the senior clergy today.

It was a joy to work together when I was posted to the Valley of Blessings, Telupid. He was the Archdeacon and later become Assistant Bishop for the East Coast. In retirement he has served as Chaplain in the Diocese of Sydney , at St. Peter’s Hall in Singapore and later Chaplain of the Seminary Theologi Sabah. He still helps in the Diocese of Sabah.

Praising God for his faithfulness.

Congratulations

Peace Community is blessed to have another wedding of a member. However this time it was held in Solo, in Central Java. Ian Cheong our member exchanged marriage vows with Devina Christiani. Senior Pastor and Yoke Fong attended the wedding as they had prayed for Ian to come to the Lord for 15 years. Senior Pastor participated in the wedding ceremony and prayed and blessed the couple.

May the Lord bless them in their journey as husband and wife. Looking forward to have Devina with us at Peace Community Church.
