We are grateful to God that He has seen us through our first year. The numbers have grown from the first 12 people who gathered to worship, Today we average 55-60. We are praying that by the end of the year we will break through the 100 mark. This is not just for numbers but to keep the momentum of evangelism and the preaching of God’s Word. This is an indication that Peace Community is being relevant and is impacting the lives of people around.

As part of the Anniversary Celebration our first Confirmation was administered by our Bishop the Rt. Rev Ng Moon Hing. 10 were confirmed into the full membership of the Anglican Church.

After the worship a Celebration Dinner was held. A number of items were presented. The high light was the presentation by our African brothers who brought the floor to dancing led by the Bishop and Senior Pastor Truly a night of great rejoicing and thanksgiving.

At 3 pm on Saturday 27 June at Country Heights, Peace Community Church held her second Baptism. 6 adults and little Andrew were baptised by Senior Pastor, Rev Fred David. It was a great day of rejoicing as one member commented : “I have waited 17 years for my son in law to be baptised.” Praise the Lord. Pray that all those who gave their lives to the Lord will grow in the Lord. They are now attending a Discipleship class at Peace Com.

ps, photos will be uploaded later.

As part of the First Anniversary Celebrations, Peace Com church decided that we needed to do something for the community. Thus under the leadership of Tony and May Rabindran, food stuffs were collected from Church members. We were excited that even the students contributed generously.

On Saturday 27 June at 10.00am 4 vehicles traveled in convey to the Children’s home to give all that we had collected. This was indeed a blessing to both the home and us members from Peace Com.  Peace Com has decided that we will do a monthly contribution to the home till the end of the year. Thank you to all who came along and all who generously gave.  God Bless you.

Sunday night 21 June, saw the church packed as friends and members came to be ministered to by the Bridges from St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Singapore. They came in in partnership of the Gospel to help celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Peace Community Church’s existence in Bukit Jalil. The team were awesome in their leading of the congregation into worship. They were a talented group of musicians and singers who see this as their ministry and service to the Lord.

The Rev Timothy Chow preached a simple yet powerful sermon on, “How to get through a Bad day” He spoke about: 1.Facing the the reality, 2 Knowing the truth, 3. Wanting the will of God, 4. Doing what God says and Holding on to the Name of the Lord.

Many were blessed by the worship and the ministry of the Word. At the Altar Call many came forward to be prayed and many returned home blessed by the Lord. Our appreciation and thanks to the Bridges for responding to the call to come and minister to us. Hallelujah

Mother’s Day was celebrated for the 1st time at Peace Community Church. As a tribute to all mothers, grand mothers and God mothers, our bassist Yogan sang, “You Raise me Up,”  moving many of the mothers who came up to the front to tears. They were then presented with a rose as a token of our appreciation to them and a cake was rolled in for them to cut. We thank Johnny Ng for making this possible.

At Peace Community we have a tag-line for this year. “Mission Triple One” It means One member  bringing  One  new friend in One year. It is very exciting to see that Peace Com members are  taking their witness seriously. We have set for ourselves a target of 200 members by the end of this year.

Helen who gave her life to the Lord at Easter, has the burden of bringing her friends to the Lord. Last Sunday she brought Xiao Tong, a friend for her home village in China to church. Praise the Lord! (from left: Xiao Tong, Yet Ling&Helen)Xiao

jchanOur speaker last Sunday was the Rev Johnny Chan from “Open Doors” which has a unique ministry in countries that are hostile to the Gospel. One of their major avenues is the supply of Bible to unreached peoples’ groups.
Speaking to Peace Community Church, Rev Johnny Chan challenged us to “allow God to trigger something in us” so that we can truly be channels of Blessing to the community. Speaking about the Early church from Acts 4:8-12 and Acts 19:1-7, he highlighted that the early church was:-

1. A  church that was persecuted.

2. A church that lived in the Lord’s hands

3. A church that was always preparing for its mission

Thank you to Rev. Chan for bringing a timely reminder to us as we come to celebrate our first year of calling into  existence by the Lord.
